George Seraphim Senior Lawyer
Qualification
George Seraphim graduated from the Faculty of Law of Humboldt University Berlin after passing successfully the 1st State Examination in Berlin on 17/09/97. The Republic of Cyprus per agreement acknowledges the above Examination as having a postgraduate level.
Professional Experiences
He did his pupilage at the Attorney General’s office in Cyprus within 1997-1998.
He was called to the Cyprus Bar in 1999, after successfully passing the Bar Examination.
In the same year he accepted a job offer from the law firm of Tassos Papadopoulos & Co in the Public and Administrative Law Department of the firm, which includes Constitutional, Civil Servants, Tender, Competition, Public Finance, Tax, Human rights and Environmental Law.
In April 2002 he established together with Christophoros Christhopi the Christophi & Seraphim law firm. In the same year (April 2002) he accepted the position as Legal Advisor of the University of Cyprus, a position from which he resigned on 31/12/2006. In April 2005 he established his own law firm Seraphim & Associates LLC.
In the year 2003 he was elected Board-Member of the Nicosia Bar Association, a position was holding until 2009, after his re-election in 2006.
George Seraphim specializes on Corporate and Takeover law, Public Tenders and Administrative law, Intellectual Property, Trademark Law and Patent Law.
His current clientele includes large local and international public and private corporations such as: The Cyprus University of Technology, the Cyprus Organization for storage and management of oil Stocks, Cyprus Radio television Authority, marketing companies, the Incubator Center for Innovative Companies of the University of Cyprus, local municipality authorities, large industrial groups of companies such as Laiko Group (one of the oldest and largest companies in Cyprus), various offshore companies, mostly from Russia and Germany etc. Currently George Seraphim is responsible on behalf of the Attorney General for all cases of promotion by the Attorney general’s office.
George Seraphim is also the leading lawyer in a $ 503 mio Dollars case well known as the AremisSoft case.
George also participated in several seminars and discussions on various legal fields in Cyprus and abroad and published articles on important legal issues.
He is also appointed as a judge in the highest sport-tribunal of Cyprus.
George Seraphim has a very extensive court experience especially at the Supreme Court (first and second instance).
